NFTs can be given away for free, as a reward for spending a certain amount or for buying a specific product. This is usually the best way as it’s the simplest method to get them into the hands of your customers.
If customers were to buy your NFTs on a marketplace they’d have to pay in crypto, adding complicated steps to the process. Depending on your customer base, this might be a familiar activity or it might be completely alien to them (probably the latter for most people). However, many of the biggest brands, for example Nike, have typically listed their NFTs for sale, giving the NFT holder access to a physical version of the product. Also, royalties from secondary sales can also be built into the smart contract.
